2010 Chukkers for Charity Great Gatsby Style

The 14th annual Chukkers for Charity polo match was held this Saturday, June 22, 2010. The theme this year was The Great Gatsby. Twenties attire, divot stomping, a car show and silent auction, plus, Nic Roldan, the highest ranking American polo star and the youngest winner of the U.S. Open polo championship. It was a swinging good time!

Tennessean : Chukkers For Charity Proceeds To Benefit the Rochelle Center and Saddle Up!

The 14th annual Chukkers for Charity polo match, which raises money for children and adults who have disabilities, will have a sophisticated Gatsby flavor this year. Patrons are urged to don 1920s attire. Gates open at 2:30 p.m., with a car show from 3 to 4:30. The opening ceremony will begin at 4:45, with the polo match kicking off at 5. Nic Roldan, the highest ranking American polo star and the youngest winner of the U.S. Open polo championship, will be featured in the match.

Rochelle Center partners with Harris-Hillman School

The Rochelle Center is proud to offer resources for parents of students at Harris-Hillman School. The school provides a safe and appropriate learning environment for students with multiple disabilities including students who are medically fragile and who have dual diagnoses. HHS purpose is to ensure that each student achieves the maximum degree of independence and achievement possibe through the use of individual instruction, collaboration and community involvement.

WZTV Fox 17: The Rochelle Center in Nashville has a "sweet" program that is helping those with developmental disabilities cook up some job skills. 

It's a job these workers have down packed, baking cookies and packaging them to be sold. Rochelle Center employee Debbie Chadwick says, "The individuals that come and work in the program love it because they can actually see their product from beginning to end." It may seem like just an activity, but to those with developmental disabilities at the Rochelle Center, it's fulfilling a purpose.
