In 1968, long time area educator W.R. Rochelle, began the foundation for the agency to offer supports for adults with developmental abilities. These supports would enhance skills necessary for these individuals to become as independent as possible in our community. Today's Rochelle Center continues that Mission with on-campus day programming in addition to residential services. Families and care-givers are comforted knowing that their loved ones are well cared for and engaged in a productive, active and safe supportive environment.
Programs include work training in The Production Center through an exceptional work team trained in the use of state of the art equipment to complete work for area businesses quickly and accurately. The program while promoting self-esteem and confidence pays training wages for work accomplished. Enclave and individual work opportunities are available.
Choices provides meaningful day programming through a modified Adult Day Care. Community integration focusing on day trips to area museums and volunteer opportunities. Individuals thrive in this atmosphere while enjoying activities, social interaction, community outings and special celebrations.
Community Based Living provides supported living opportunities in nine residences in the Nashville area. With the assistance of companions, clients develop skills of daily living and independence, while being active members of our community. Future plans are to expand the program by three or four additional residences.
